this took a long time to make, but i think its well worth it. Even then, Contracts and Blood Money feel great today and are much easier to play than this. I can really only recommend this game if you are a big fan of Hitman - that is, Hitman as a whole and what it offers in its niche, not just the more recent entries. Still, Silent Assassin is incredibly frustrating to play today. Playing by this game's rules means staying out of sight and a slow, patient approach - a stark contrast from modern Hitman. What the hell?Īt the same time, it's this ridiculously inconsistent difficulty (and the fantastic music) that makes it more satisfying to get the highest possible rating of Silent Assassin in this game than any other Hitman. Yet I had no issues with getting recognized, not even once, and I was right next to other guards. It should be obvious from 100 feet away that 47, a bald clean-shaven white dude, doesn't fit in.

Every guard has dark skin, a full head of hair and a full beard. It's plausible that he would stick out, right? Well, 47 (your character) is a bit lighter-toned than the rest of the guards, and he's the only bald guy on the premises. In the first mission which is set in Italy, guards, the target, even the chef will immediately see through your disguise if you get too close. The disguise system was the worst case of this. You can't go into certain areas - reload your save and maybe this time you can. Shooting someone in the head with a silenced pistol will alert anyone nearby - except for when it doesn't. Most of the time you can't even run around guards or they'll instantly shoot you - but sometimes you can.
Since the announcement of the feature, Microsoft has added hundreds of X360 games and dozens of original Xbox games to the list of playable last-gen titles. Seeing the credits finally roll today was a bit melancholic since I have no more new Hitman games to play, but mostly it was a relief. Xbox One owners can play Hitman HD Pack, which contains Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman 3: Contracts, on the console, as the bundle is now backwards compatible.
It's the only Hitman game I had never played through until this past month. I looked on this sub and was surprised to find not one thread on Hitman 2: Silent Assassin.
